Woman Says Her Sister Tried To Force Her Down the Aisle With a Creepy Groomsman — Then the Family Meeting Ended With Hair Pulling and a Black Eye

In a Reddit post, a 25-year-old woman said her sister’s wedding plans took a sharp turn when she found out she was suddenly expected to walk down the aisle with the groom’s brother instead of her own brother. According to the post, that would have been uncomfortable under any circumstances, but this was not just some random pairing for ceremony photos. She said the man had already made repeated advances toward her, stared at her during family events, and had even been part of an earlier setup where her sister tricked her into what turned out to be a double date, despite knowing she had been with her boyfriend for years.

She explained that her boyfriend had been part of the family’s life for a long time and was not some casual guest her sister barely knew. In the post, she said he had been around for holidays, family vacations, baptisms, and other major moments, which made what happened next even stranger. When she objected to being paired with the groom’s brother and said he made her uncomfortable, her sister did not just brush it off. She told her that if she brought her longtime boyfriend to the wedding, she would no longer be a bridesmaid. Meanwhile, a younger sibling’s girlfriend was still invited, which made the whole thing feel even more targeted.

At first, the woman tried to handle it like a family disagreement and hoped her sister would calm down. But in an update, she said the real issue became harder to ignore: she believed her sister had been encouraging the groom’s brother all along. According to the update, the woman felt like the whole aisle-walking arrangement was part of some matchmaking fantasy, even though she had made it clear for years that she was serious about her own relationship and had no interest in this man whatsoever.

Things escalated when the family held a meeting at her parents’ house to try to work it out. Her father, she said, was angry when he learned about the earlier double-date stunt and took her side. Her mother, on the other hand, reportedly cared more about appearances and wanted the issue resolved so “people will talk” would not become a problem at the wedding. At that meeting, the woman again pressed her sister for an explanation about why it mattered so much that she walk with this man instead of her brother. Her sister allegedly said it was what her fiancé wanted and that she just wanted to make him happy.

According to the post, that conversation completely blew apart. The woman said she told her sister the groomsman made her so uncomfortable she would not be surprised if he tried to assault her. That set her sister off. She started crying, yelling that everyone was ruining her wedding, and melting down over the fact that the woman was prepared to just attend as a guest and leave before the reception. Then the woman’s twin and younger brother took her side too and said they did not want to be in the wedding party if she was pushed out.

That was apparently the moment the screaming turned physical. According to the update, the sister ran at her, grabbed her hair, and would not let go. The woman said she pulled back, grabbed hair in return, and when her sister came at her again, she reacted by punching her in the face. She wrote that she did not plan to hit her, but it happened in the middle of the fight. By the end of it, the bride reportedly had a black eye, a cut on her cheek, and missing hair just before her bachelorette party.

Afterward, the sister allegedly threatened to press charges, then tried to negotiate. According to the woman, her sister said she would now “allow” her to walk with her actual brother if she apologized and agreed to stay in the wedding. But by then, the woman no longer trusted any of it. She said she suspected her sister would just switch things back at the last minute and still find a way to force her near the groom’s brother. Her father did not seem to blame her for defending herself, but her mother wanted everyone to smooth it over for the sake of the wedding they were paying for.

By the end of the update, the woman sounded exhausted more than anything else. She said she still loved her sister, but she also felt deeply disrespected and was already planning to limit contact once the wedding was over. What began as a weird aisle assignment had turned into a much uglier family fight over control, appearances, and a sister who seemed willing to bulldoze her boundaries to keep one disturbing little wedding fantasy alive. What do you think: once it got this far, was skipping the wedding the only sane option left?
